The Therapy Process

Therapy is a collaborative process where we will work together on equal footing to achieve goals that you define. This means that you will follow a defined process supported by scientific evidence, where we both have specific rights and responsibilities. Therapy generally shows positive outcomes for individuals who follow the process. Better outcomes are often associated with a good relationship between us. To foster the best possible relationship, it is important you understand as much about the process before deciding to commit.

Therapy begins with the intake process. First, you will review our policies and procedures, talk about fees, identify emergency contacts, and decide if you want health insurance to pay your fees depending on your plan's benefits. Second, you will discuss what to expect during therapy, including the type of therapy, the length of treatment, and the risks and benefits.Third, you will form a treatment plan, including the type of therapy, how often you will attend therapy, your short- and long-term goals, and the steps you will take to achieve them. Over time, we may edit your treatment plan to be sure it describes your goals and steps you need to take. After intake, you will attend regular therapy sessions in-person office or through video, called telehealth. Participation in therapy is voluntary - you can stop at any time. At some point, you will achieve your goals. At this time, you will review your progress, identify supports that will help you maintain your progress, and discuss how to return to therapy if you need it in the future.

Here at Araceli Grant Counseling, we strive to provide a range of services in a private setting with flexible hours:

  • Couples Counseling
  • Sex Therapy

Medication Management

The prescribers at Araceli Grant Counseling specialize in medication analysis for mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, insomnia, and other adult mental health conditions.

Your initial evaluation includes a comprehensive assessment to determine an accurate diagnosis for your condition. The symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and other disorders can worsen by lifestyle choices, sleep deprivation, and stressful situations at home or work. Certain medical conditions can also affect the severity of your symptoms.

Carefully reviewing your medical history, medications and supplements, lifestyle, diet, and other factors will give us a clear idea of all factors affecting your mental health.

Couples Counseling

Do you feel like your relationship is at a standstill? Are you and your partner stuck in the same argument loop every night? Do you feel like you and your partner are drifting away? Do you desire more intimacy between you and your partner? All things can be improved, changed and bettered, with just a little support, no matter how big or small. With couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs, and get what you want out of your relationship. In my couple’s therapy sessions, I help people develop the necessary skills needed to maintain sustaining love.

Sex Therapy

Are you stuck in a sexless marriage? Do you and your partner have mismatched sexual desires? Are you having performance issues? Do you not feel emotionally connected anymore?

Or maybe you want to spice up your love life, but your partner isn’t interested.

If sexual issues are preventing true closeness between you and your partner, you may want to consider sex therapy.

Addiction Therapy

We recognize that addiction is a chronic, progressive, and potentially fatal disease. Relapse is a symptom of the disease of addiction. We can help assess the severity and decide what steps you need to take. This may include hospitalization, medication management, intensive group and individual therapy, and 12-step support.

Mental Health Services

We offer individual counseling services to address mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. We also offer psychiatric medication management for those who would benefit from it.

Telehealth

Do you need support, but can’t make it to an in-person appointment? Are you a busy stay-at-home or working parent, and don’t have the time to drive across town for an appointment?

Do you live in a more rural area, or maybe you prefer to just do things Virtually?

If so, we can help you through virtual therapy, or telehealth.
